10 Day Grand Canyon River Trip with Emphasis on Geology

Our 10 day Grand Canyon River Trip & Geology Special is coming back in 2010, and it's already full! This 10 day motorized trip with emphasis on Grand Canyon geology and hiking launches on September 12, 2010. This full Grand Canyon trip is specially priced at $2995. Once again this special adventure is being led by noted geologist, author, and lecturer, Dr. Wayne Ranney. Dr. Ranney, a past backcountry ranger at Grand Canyon National Park, is an Adjunct Professor of geology at Yavapai College in Sedona, AZ. He received his bachelor's degree in geology from Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, followed by a master's degree in 1988. His most recent book, Carving Grand Canyon: Evidence, Theories and Mysteries, is now in its fourth printing. Dr. Ranney is knowledgable, but casual and articulate. His comments and presentations are entertaining, interesting, and understandable to all levels of interest, beginning or advanced. He explains the changing scenes as we travel down the river, and while we're in camp, and he often leads hikes into tributary canyons where special features can be seen and photographed. We only offer this trip once a year. If you'd like to be on the wait list for a cancellation please call. Ask for Sheri, or Joy at 800-525-0924.
