On August 21 this year there will be a total solar eclipse crossing the US for the first time in 38 years. It will only be partial from the Colorado Plateau (meaning the moon will cover about 75% of the sun as seen by folks in Arizona and Utah) but it will still be pretty impressive. It's being called the All-American Eclipse because everyone in the US will get to see part of it. Even better for river guides it will happen in later morning and around noon depending on the time zone so it will be high in the sky so even river trips in the Inner Gorge of Grand Canyon will see it. Because only part of the sun is covered everyone would need solar eclipse glasses to view it. Should be very cool!

Still time to reserve a spot on the August 20 All the Grand full canyon river trip.
